Distrupol delivers DSM’s Sarlink® TPV resin for tough Audi under-bonnet application
As a leading European polymer distributor, technical service and solutions provider, Distrupol plays an active role in supporting moulders and OEMs through all stages of application development. A demonstration of this has been its successful partnering with UK automotive moulder, P&D Manufacturing in the development of an under- bonnet heat shield in thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) resin for the Audi A4 and Audi A6 models.
There is a growing trend to use dilution technology as a cost effective route for technically demanding injection moulded applications. This technology reduces the quantity of compounded material used by diluting a concentrated long, glass fibre compound (“concentrate”) with reactor polypropylene (PP) at the injection moulding stage. To meet the needs of customers making this transition from conventional moulding, Borealis – through Borouge, the exclusive distributor and marketer of Borealis’ speciality polyolefins in the Middle East and Asia Pacific – has launched Nepol™ GB600HP-9502.

Urmond, The Netherlands, 24 October 2005 – DSM Dyneema announced a new branding program to help ensure the quality of industrial gloves made with Dyneema®, the world's strongest fiber. The program recruits top glove makers known for their consistently high quality production, then independently tests the abrasion and cut resistance of their gloves with Dyneema®. A label tells end-users that the gloves on their hands conform to the program's standards. The program is expected to be in place by year end.
Borealis was recently awarded the ISO/TS 16949:2002 technical specification for two key production facilities serving the automotive business. Following audits conducted by Det Norske Veritas during April 2005 the certification was awarded to Schwechat, Austria and Beringen, Belgium, providing Borealis automotive customers with the continuing assurance of polypropylene (PP) and PP compound material quality specific to the criteria set by the industry.
