Faster, lower cost glass panel bonding solution for demountable partitions
Demountable partition systems provide companies with almost limitless possibilities for the design and redesign of their office layouts, enabling the best use of available space as they grow in size or reorganize their functional groupings.
But, while the object of partitioning has always been to create defined working spaces, today there is an increasing emphasis on the aesthetics of separation. This means the design of areas that are enclosed to provide distinct divisions of space and provide acoustic insulation but which at the same time offer high transparency to maximise light in the environment and provide for visual contact between personnel.
This new trend towards the wider application of transparent partitioning capitalizes on advances in glass quality and the use of flush glazed panels. The advantage of this construction is its high aesthetic value, however, the barrier to its more general specification for the office setting has been the system cost of bonding glazed panels onto steel or aluminium frames.
Working with key industries such as construction, furniture and door and window producers, 3M has developed a solution that not only lowers system cost but which reduces module production time and allows greater panel design flexibility. Able to be used for both small and large size modules, 3M™ VHB™ Acrylic Foam Tape provides a high strength attachment method that allows flush glazed panels to be securely bonded to metal partition frames. 3M also offers appropriate dispensing equipment to apply this tape
High performance 3M™ VHB™ Acrylic Foam Tape offers a revolutionary clean and fast assembly solution that enables a wider degree of design freedom, including thinner frames and narrower bond lines, use of non-printed edge glass and the delivery of an outstanding aesthetic finish that cannot be matched by mechanical fixing systems. Moreover, 3M™ pressure sensitive technology gives high production speed and immediate bond, without the requirement of a long storage period. 3M™ VHB™ Acrylic Foam Tape contributes to the shock absorption characteristics of the completed partition, providing for reduced damage risk in transportation, assembly and in installed performance. Besides the leading product 3M™ VHB™ Acrylic Foam Tape 3M also offers protection and decoration products for the partition segment.
