Gli stabilimenti di SABIC in Brasile e in Argentina ottengono la certificazione per produrre resine biocompatibili e conformi alle direttive della FDA per il fiorente mercato medicale dell'America del Sud
BERGEN OP ZOOM, Paesi Bassi – 12 gennaio 2012 – L'unità Innovative Plastics di SABIC ha annunciato oggi che i suoi impianti produttivi di Campinas, in Brasile, e di Tortuguitas, in Argentina, hanno ottenuto la certificazione necessaria per poter produrre resine biocompatibili e conformi alle direttive della U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) per il crescente mercato medicale dell'America del Sud e sono quindi in grado di contribuire ad abbattere i tempi di consegna, ridurre i costi di inventario ed accrescere la flessibilità nell'acquisto dei materiali. Ci si aspetta che i mercati medicali di otto paesi dell'America del Sud - Brasile, Messico, Argentina, Cile, Venezuela, Perù, Colombia e Cuba - mostrino un tasso di crescita annuo composto (CAGR) pari al 4,6 percento tra il 2008 e il 2013, raggiungendo i 9,2 miliardi di dollari USA, secondo le notizie dell’agenzia Espicom Health Intelligence sul settore medicale. Per soddisfare questa crescente domanda, SABIC si impegna a fornire ai clienti locali un accesso rapido e agevole ai suoi materiali ad alte prestazioni - come ad esempio le resine biocompatibili policarbonato (PC) Lexan* HP - e alle risorse tecniche di cui hanno bisogno per portare sul mercato una nuova generazione di applicazioni medicali.

Clariant is named Pigment Supplier of the Year by Sitivesp
Muttenz/ São Paulo, December 23, 2011 - Sitivesp, the Union of Paints & Coatings producers of the State of São Paulo, has named Clariant “Supplier of the Year” in the Pigment category of its annual award scheme. This is the 17th time, in the 20 year history of the award, that Clariant has been chosen as the best Pigment supplier.

CLOSURE OF FLAACH TAPE DEVELOPMENT & MANUFACTURING FACILITY
The Netherlands, December 21, 2011 - DSM Dyneema has announced its decision to close its facility in Flaach, Switzerland. The site was acquired in 2007 as part of the acquisition of Pamako A.G., and currently develops and produces Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMwPE) tape. Approx. 25 people are affected by this decision.

Le resine leggere Xenoy* e Lexan* di SABIC garantiscono un comfort assoluto al nuovo casco di protezione Versaflo™ serie M di 3M™
BERGEN OP ZOOM, Paesi Bassi – 15 dicembre 2011 – Poiché il dispositivo di protezione risulta efficace soltanto se indossato, 3M™ ha progettato una nuova linea di elmetti e caschi ergonomici ed eccezionalmente comodi, realizzati con le resine leggere di qualità ottica Xenoy* e Lexan* OQ dell'unità Innovative Plastics di SABIC. La nuova linea di caschi con respiratore Versaflo™ serie M di 3M utilizza la resina Xenoy a base di policarbonato/polibutilentereftalato (PC/PBT) con colore personalizzato per la calotta del casco e il telaio della visiera. La resina ha consentito una progettazione a parete sottile, che ha permesso di ridurre il peso del casco del 15% - 20% circa rispetto ai precedenti prodotti 3M della serie L. La resina trasparente Lexan OQ PC utilizzata per le visiere garantisce inoltre ottime qualità ottiche e resistenza agli urti.
