Arkema will be exhibiting at the K2007 trade fair with all its plastics activities: PVC, PMMA, Technical Polymers, and Functional Additives. K2007 will give Arkema the opportunity to showcase new applications in PMMA, in particular for flat television screens, and new developments in Technical Polymers, in particular in Rilsan® and Pebax® product ranges.
Technical polymers are part of Performance Products pole, which concentrates 50% of R&D Arkema expenses. They represent 14% of 2007 Arkema turnover and hold forefront commercial positions based on strong brands, widely respected products and assertive R&D.
Today, pending K2007 announcements, Arkema focus its presentation on a selection of key polymers in its 5 ranges: Polyamides, Fluoropolymers, Fine and Ultra Fine Powders and Functional Polyolefins.
Polyamides
Rilsan® Polyamides 11 and 12 for fuel lines, coiled air hoses for trucks, electrical components, etc.
Rilsan® Clear for eyeglass frames, medical equipment (valves, fittings), etc.
Pebax® which offer wide range of physical and mechanical properties such as lightness, flexibility, energy return, impact resistance, good resistance to most chemicals, outstanding properties at low temperature. Suitable for many applications in markets such as sports, medical, packaging and industrial applications.
Fluoropolymers
Kynar® Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) for coatings, chemical engineering equipment, electrical cables, high-protection coatings for metal surfaces, etc.
Fine and Ultra Fine Powders
Rilsan® Polyamide Fine powders for protection of automotive parts (spline shafts, brake hoses), water pipes, other (dishwasher baskets, hosiery)
Rilsan® Active, polyamide 11 powder coating with added surface protection against bacterial growth.
Functional Polyolefins
Evatane® Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) for adhesives, cables, polymer modified bitumen, films and solar panel encapsulation.
Lotryl® Ethylene Acrylate Copolymers for adhesives, cables, polymer modification, protection film, extrusion coating and sealable peelable layer.
Lotader® Ethylene Acrylate Terpolymer, used as impact modifier for polymers, coupling agent in halogen free flame retardant (HFFR) cables, adhesive for the manufacturing of compound materials and food packaging, etc.
Orevac® used for packaging applications (co-extrusion & lamination of multilayer barrier structures, adhesion between polyolefins & barrier materials) and industrial applications (tie layers in multilayer structures, adhesion between polyolefins & polar materials such as EVOH, PA, Epoxy or Aluminium).
