FASSON LASERCOPYJET PRINTER RECOMMENDATIONS

THE FAST SOURCING SOLUTION FOR THE LASER PRINTING MARKET

Leiden, The Netherlands, given the wide choice of desk-top printers available for self-adhesive roll-label applications, especially in the small and home office environment, the materials selection process has become an increasingly complex task. To solve this problem – and mindful that e business is an effective way of saving time and costs for the label industry - Fasson has developed “Fasson LaserCopyJet Printer Recommendation”. This on-line platform gives the converter a straightforward way of matching the Fasson products and consumable materials that are best suited for almost all of the main laser printer models on today’s market.

It is the latest addition to ‘Fasson Printer and Supplies Advisor’, the new name for Fasson Ink, Die and Ribbon Advice, the materials sourcing platform that forms part of the company’s overall service package, Fasson Advantage.

Comments Anne Christine van Geelen, Fasson’s Web Content Manager: “The new name for this platform best reflects our ambition to build partnerships at all stages of the labelling value chain. This is so we can give customers more information about how our products perform during printing and offer a one-stop shop for advice. The addition of Fasson Laser Recommendation makes numerous compatibility test reports, based on pre-tested materials, available to the converter as well. It is a vast knowledge-base, which has been created as a result of the extensive tests we have done on commercial available Laser Printers.”

The optimum combination of printer and consumable component for their Fasson material is achieved as Fasson LaserCopyJet Printer Recommendation takes the converter through a series of simple menus, including printing machine manufacturer, printer model, and Fasson product.

Access to detailed test reports is available at the click of the mouse. Ms. van Geelen continues: “At Fasson, we’re continually striving to devise innovations that help our partners achieve enhanced productivity, flexibility and quality. The arrival of Fasson LaserCopyJet Printer Recommendation is a perfect example, since it effectively removes the need for converters to conduct time-consuming tests. We have all the latest printer models from the world’s leading manufacturers at our Applications Laboratory in Leiden, Netherlands. These include brands such as Lexmark, Hewlett Packard, Brother and Kyocera, to name but a few. On these, we have fully evaluated the performance of the 16 existing Fasson laser application products, according to a detailed testing procedure.”

The test protocol, which each Fasson laser product undergoes, is based on a host of parameters. Print quality tests examine toner anchorage and marks, bent corners, folds, wrinkles and creases; performance tests look for the occurrence of jamming, misfeeds, multiple feed-registration, label lifts and matrix lifts; the printer is also checked for drum pollution and the accumulation of residue.

Ms. van Geelen adds: “With the arrival of this extension to Fasson Partner Advice saves our customers valuable time in what until now has been a highly complicated materials sourcing process. Customers have 24 hour a day access to our extensive results – this dispenses with the need to liaise with customer sales representatives, or to carry out in-house trials. The converter can thus enjoy better productivity, and offer shorter lead times, with the assurance that the materials selected are the best solution for achieving optimum quality and problem-free conversion.”

Fasson LaserCopyJet Printer Recommendation is not just beneficial for converters though. The service also provides others involved in materials specification with an easy way for designers and end-users to learn more about how their clients’ various printers are suited to the label materials they work with.

Fasson LaserCopyJet Printer Recommendation is available at any time via Fasson Printer and Supplies Advisor, on the public domain of Fasson Online. For more information on this and the Fasson Advantage service offering go to www.averydennison.com
