UL-APPROVED FASSON OVERLAMINATING FILM FOR DURABLE LABELS

Leiden, The Netherlands - The durability and legibility of a nameplate or rating plate are critical -- but producing them to UL and other standards can be costly. Avery Dennison have developed an innovative alternative to expensive polycarbonate labelstocks: an ultra-thin Fasson polycarbonate overlaminating film that protects the integrity of the nameplate and, it is claimed, can also save costs for durable goods labelling.

Fasson Overlam Polycarb 50 Matt offers converters the opportunity to protect undersurface-printed polycarbonate nameplates, or simply to overlaminate nameplates and rating plates, membrane switches, and touch screens. With UL approval for indoor use, the 50 micron matt velvet facestock has been developed to deliver the qualities these applications demand: high read-through quality without image distortion; low glare; durability; and fingerprint and scratch resistance. Coupled with a clear permanent adhesive and a 36 micron PET liner to create a clear-on-clear laminate, Fasson Overlam Polycarb 50 Matt offers good handling characteristics and aids smooth, accurate dispensing of automatically-applied printed nameplates -- even at high speeds. Once applied, it performs within the broad service temperature range -- -40 deg C to +100 deg C -- required for many of today's durable electronics, electrical, and white goods.
