AVERY DENNISON TURNS SPOTLIGHT ON PRODUCT INTEGRITY AT INNOPACK 2011 (CPhI)

Hall 4.1, Booth G30
October 25-27, 2011
Messe Frankfurt, Germany

LEIDEN, the Netherlands — October 11, 2011 — Adhesive and labelling solutions to the stringent product integrity, performance and security challenges of the Pharmaceutical industry will take center stage at Avery Dennison’s Innopack 2011 Booth (Hall 4.1 G30).

Joining the event for its 2011 debut, the industry leader in pressure-sensitive labelling and packaging material solutions will present visitors with its dedicated pharmaceutical packaging advances designed to give label manufacturers and brand owners new opportunities to embrace innovation within the highly-regulated boundaries of the sector.

Anti-counterfeiting solutions, low migration adhesives and a cutting-edge development for more efficient plasma-handling will be among the highlights at the Avery Dennison booth:

Avery Dennison Plasma Bag Label – providing 100% adhesion on frozen blood-plasma bags. This new, special label construction significantly reduces the chances of plasma bag labels failing and makes ice removal unnecessary for blood banks and hospitals.

Fasson® S692NP™ - a clear, permanent label adhesive developed to perform well in applications with a high migration risk, such as fluid-filled linear low density polyethylene (LDPE) containers.

Fasson® Security – a complete range of anti-counterfeit and tamper evidence solutions for pharmaceutical packaging.

“Counterfeit drugs, more generic suppliers and a constant flow of new regulations create a tough environment for the pharmaceutical packaging industry,” says Jan‘t Hart, global segment director, pharmaceuticals, for Avery Dennison Label and Packaging Materials. “By following a collaborative innovation strategy we hear first-hand of the day-to-day obstacles facing the label manufacturers, brand owners and the supply chain users. This means we can apply our extensive knowledge of self-adhesive technology to offer solutions that really get to the heart of un-met challenges.”

Avery Dennison’s label materials for the pharmaceutical industry are produced under controlled conditions to specific criteria at its plant at Bourg-de-Thizy in France. The plant has been upgraded to meet the high quality pharma requirements.
