Unter diesem Motto startet im September die Ethernet@Industry Roadshow der Veranstaltungspartner Belden / Hirschmann, BTR Netcom, Insys, Rittal und Yello Netcom zur einer Kompetenztour durch Deutschland. Im neunten Veranstaltungsjahr konzentriert sich der rote Faden der Vortragsveranstaltung ganz auf die Optimierung der Ethernet-Technologie im industriellen Einsatz. In praxisnahen Vortragsblöcken wird aufgezeigt wie in den einzelnen Industriebereichen mittels moderner Kommunikationstechnik eine Anlagenoptimierung erfolgen kann.

Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH (Neckartenzlingen, Germany) has introduced a new managed Fast/Gigabit Ethernet Switch to complement its OpenRail product family. The switch is available with 8 or 9 Fast Ethernet ports, 4 of which supporting Power over Ethernet (PoE). The uplink ports can be designed for RJ45 connectors as well as for any customer specific combination of other connectors, such as MTRJ, ST or SC. RJ45 or SFP ports (10/100/1000 Base TX) are provided for Gigabit uplinks and can be equipped with SFP fiber modules (1000 Base FX/SX/LX/LH).

With EAGLE20, Hirschmann Automation and Control, a Belden company based in Neckartenzlingen, Germany, has introduced the fourth generation of its industrial networking firewall. Like other Hirschmann products, EAGLE20 is based on the proven VxWorks real-time operating system. The new industrial firewall meets all requirements for operating as a security router, including Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) Firewall, Packet Filter Rules and a VPN Server.
