Belden introduces new components to provide end-to-end solutions for Industrial Ethernet cabling

Belden, a leader in the design, manufacturing and marketing of signal transmission products, has introduced a series of new components for Industrial Ethernet conductivity to complement Belden’s high performance unshielded and shielded twisted pair cables with bonded-pair technology.

Suitable for industrial environments

Belden has introduced a range of new connectivity components including cord sets; modular jacks; plug kits as well as new accessories including stainless steel faceplates; surface mount boxes; hands tools to crimp either UTP or FTP RJ45 plugs, cable strippers and punch-down connecting equipment to meet the needs of Industrial Ethernet (IE) users.

Industrial Ethernet provides a common physical media among the various process /manufacturing devices plus it seamlessly integrates the data flow between the front office and the plant floor.

In this workflow, the office-type environment offers its cabling system a relatively safe harbor, but the industrial world can present very harsh and hazardous environmental conditions, meaning there’s a real risk in bringing commercial-type cabling and connectivity products into the industrial landscape.

Belden’s IP67-rated products are built for mission critical applications in harsh environments, such as factory and processing areas in unprotected and outdoor environments. They resist the ingress of and exposure to dust, moisture, water, oil and chemicals. Non-sealed IP20-rated cord sets are designed for use inside protected enclosures, control rooms and similar places which may be subject to harsh conditions, such as extreme temperatures, EMI/RFI (electro-magnetic/radio frequency interference) and vibration.

Quality Built-In

To complement the range, Belden also offers full line of UTP and FTO DataTuff cables which feature bonded-pair technology, which eliminates gaps between connector pairs and provides a uniformity which results in unique and very reliable performance after installation.
