Belden meets high performance needs for HDTV at IBC 2008
Belden is a leading manufacturer and global supplier of cable solutions for a wide range of different applications for the creation, production and delivery of entertainment content. During IBC 2008 in Amsterdam, Belden Wire & Cable Systems introduced a range of new products. These included:
Shielded CatSnake™ cable 70005E
A shielded Cat 5e cable for patching Ethernet or digital A/V formats for use in studios or in tactical field deployable A/V installations.
Tactical Fiber Optic Cables
Belden’s Brilliance Tactical Fiber Optic cables are bend-insensitive and core-bonded for fast and easy use at outdoor events. Designed and constructed to facilitate fast, easy field deployment. These single-mode cables are ideal for use in digital camera transmissions, electronic news gathering and OB vehicles and other event related communications systems.
Belden provided the IBC show this year with 630 meters of Brilliance Tactical Fiber Optic cables with SC connectors. These were used around IBC for a number of HD applications.
HDMI Cables for High Definition A/V
Especially for use in home theater applications, these cables ensure superior, uncompressed digital A/V quality as installations expand and evolve. Home theater devices must be capable of sending and receiving a wide range of A/V signal types. The selection of cables to support that signal traffic is critical. Belden offers a complete line of cables for use by the home theater installer, including 26 AWG shielded twisted pair HDMI cables in lengths of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7 meters.
Heat-Resistant SMPTE311M Hybrid Optical Fiber Cables
Designed to meet the standard for HD television cameras up to 3GB/s. Each composite cable includes a high-voltage power line for HDTV cameras, two control lines and two optical fibers for A/V transmission.
