Belden meets high performance needs for HDTV at CABSAT 2009 (booth ZB-2)

• Shielded CatSnake™ cable 70005E

A shielded Cat 5e cable for patching Ethernet or digital audio formats (e.g Ethersound™, CobraNet™, Roland’s DigitalSnake™, DMX Over Ethernet) for use in studios or in tactical field deployable audio/video installations.

• Tactical Fiber Optic Cables

Bend-insensitive and core-bonded for fast and easy use at outdoor events. Designed and constructed to facilitate fast, easy field deployment. These single-mode cables are ideal for use in digital camera transmissions, electronic news gathering and OB vehicles and other event related communications systems.

• HDMI Cables for High Definition Audio and Video

Especially for use in home theater applications, these cables ensure superior, uncompressed digital video and audio quality as installations expand and evolve. Home theater devices must be capable of sending and receiving a wide range of video and audio signal types. The selection of cables to support that signal traffic is critical. Belden offers a complete line of cables and related products for use by the home theater installer, including 26 AWG shielded twisted pair HDMI cables in lengths of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7 meters.

• Heat-Resistant SMPTE311M Hybrid Optical Fiber Cables

Designed to meet the standard for HD television cameras up to 3GB/s. Each composite cable includes a high-voltage power line for HDTV cameras, two control lines and two optical fibers for video and audio transmission.

• CATV Drop Cables

Belden’s new CATV drop cables for Cable TV, Satellite Dish and Broadband Applications provide installers and system integrators with a cost effective and readily available alternative to existing products. These CATV drop cables perform to the highest industry standards. They deliver competitive price/performance when compared to cables of a similar construction. The new range comprises four of Belden’s essential and best-performing CATV cables: RG-59, RG-6, RG-6 Trishield and RG-11.

Belden Brilliance Tactical Fiber Optic cables

In addition, Belden will also feature its range of Brilliance Tactical Fiber Optic cables, made for fast, easy field deployment. The single-mode cables are ideal for use in digital camera transmissions, electronic news gathering and OB vehicles and other event related communications systems. The cables can also be used in underground and underwater research and industrial applications.

These cables are smaller and lighter in weight than traditional tactical fiber cables. As a result, they have a smaller bend radius capability and improved flexibility and resilience (cable memory) over a broad range of outdoor temperatures and weather conditions.

Belden Tactical Fiber Optic cables are made with extremely strong, rugged, and survivable tight-buffered single-mode fibers. They feature an aramid yarn strength member which is core-bonded to a jacket made from exceptionally tough, sunlight and chemical resistant polyurethane (PUR). The round outer jacket is flame retardant according to IEC60332-2 and highly resistant to abrasion, crushing and cut-through.

Core-Bonded – easier, stronger and better performance

Belden Tactical Fiber Optic cables feature Belden’s proprietary core-bonded technology: the outer jacket is pressure extruded over the interior cable structure. This allows the cable core and jacket to act as one mechanical unit and simplifies its installation. In severe bends, the core-bonded cable outer jacket keeps the cable elements in place, which retains the round shape of the cable, provides localized bend limits, and avoids wrinkling of the cable’s outer jacket. This construction helps to resist tearing and prevents subsequent damage to the cable. The core-bonded outer jacket is designed with a polyester ripcord that easily opens up the outer jacket for fast access to the tight buffered fibers.
