Hirschmann™ delivers Industrial Ethernet Solution for China High Speed Railway Industry
Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway PDL Signal Security Platform Adopt Hirschmann™ Industrial Ethernet Solution
More than 300 sets of Hirschmann™ high performance switches were used for the high speed passenger dedicated lines (PDL) Signal Security Platform of the Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway, the most famous High Speed Railway in China. This reliable solution ensures customer safety, thanks to Belden’s extensive track record with Hirschmann™ products in railway applications.
Construction of the Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway commenced in 2008. It runs from Beijing South Railway Station to Shanghai Hongqiao Station, with a total length of 1,318km, representing a total investment of approximately RMB 220.9 billion. (approx. euro 25 billion). The track laying was completed at the end of 2010 and the line is expected to open in June 2011. This project is set to shorten journey times between Beijing and Shanghai to less than 5 hours. The overall project is China’s longest high speed railway constructed in one time, and represents the largest investment and meets the highest standards.
The signal security platform of Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway is assembled and deployed with Hirschmann™ industrial Ethernet products. The new railway uses technologically advanced Hirschmann™ Industrial Ethernet train control center (TCC), computer based interlocking (CBI), radio block center (RBC), and temporary speed restriction (TSR) equipment, ensuring a high degree of safety for the train control system.
System Special Requirement
• Super-long transmission distance
• Batch and circuit-based network access, high expandability, without affecting regular network communication
• High reliability of equipment, meeting attended needs
• Single-point link failure without affecting network data transmission
• Hostile site working environment, with vibration and strong electromagnetic interference
Offered Solution
• Switched 1000Mbps/s industrial Ethernet
• Backbone switch adopts Small Form factor Pluggable (SFP) module to connect neighboring station and supports approximately 100km transmission distance
• The signal security platform of Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway adopts
• Hirschmann™ HIPER-Ring technology and forms three dual-ring topological structure with single-mode fiber. A larger network is formed through multi-trunk technology among three ring networks. The data communication among the three networks is achieved through router.
• MACH4002 exchange is used for central station/point; station and relay are connected with RS30 through SFP module; a ring network is set up for every 450km. Two ring networks are connected through multi-link trunk to reduce broadcast domain.
• The monitoring center of central station can easily monitor the operating state of each station exchange and terminal equipment through Hirschmann™ Industrial HiVision network management software.
Hirschmann™ solutions have been applied in all 350km/h High Speed Train tracks in China, as the country continues to invest in more new high speed passenger dedicated lines. These include the new high profile Wu-Guang PDL with a top speed of 350km/h and the Beijing-Shanghai high speed railway which will have a line speed of 400km/h.
Throughout the EMEA region, Belden offers integrated communication solutions for transport automation. About the Beijing-Shanghai high speed railway
The whole line of Beijing-Shanghai high speed railway is fully laid with joint less and ballast less track. A wide variety of environmental protection measures such as vibration reduction, noise reduction, low energy consumption, less electromagnetic interference, etc. have been taken for such infrastructure as railway line, tractive power supply, communication signal, and so on. The whole line is monitored and controlled in real time with regard to disaster prevention and safety and applies distributed power EMUs with advanced level of the world.
The integrated automation system integrating traffic control, dispatching, information management, and equipment monitoring into a whole can ensure the modernized passage transportation characterized by high speed, high density, high comfort, high capacity, high compatibility, high on-schedule rate, and high safety. Full overpass crossing and totally closed line have been realized for Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway. It not only facilitates the traffic of pedestrians and vehicles, but also guarantees the operating safety of high-speed train. By way of replacing road with bridge, the whole line maximally economizes the very precious land resources in the eastern regions. The length of bridge is approximately 1140km, accounting for 86.5% of the main line; the tunnel is approximately 16km long, standing for 1.2% of the main lnie; the roadbed is 162km long, representing 12.3% of the length of the main line; the ballastless main line of the whole line laid is about 1,268km, representing 96.2% of the total length of the line; the ballast-track main line is about 50km, accounting for 3.8% of the line length. The land used for the whole line is totally 5,000km2.
