Motoral OY makes 3-in-1 box solution with Borecene Compact™
Using Borecene Compact™ RM 8346 from Borealis third generation linear medium density polyethylene designed for rotomoulding, Finnish rotational moulder Motoral OY produces a combined battery, windscreen washing liquid reservoir and toolbox for Valtra tractors that reduces production and assembly time. The part design won top honours in the “Innovative State of the Art” category at the Association of Rotational Molders (ARM) International Fall Conference, 2003.
New Borealis Borpact™ polypropylene is set to deliver transparency and low temperature impact for deep freeze display packaging
Borealis has introduced Borpact™ SG930MO, a clarified polypropylene (PP) plastic, to satisfy shoppers’ growing demand for transparent packaging that is deep freeze resistant. This new Borpact is just completing two years of development and trials and represents a significant expansion of packaging materials available to serve producers of deep freeze products, such as ice cream.
New Borealis Borcom™ polypropylene solution delivers higher level of weight savings for appliances
Borealis has launched the new Borcom™ WG 140AI microcomposite, the first generation of a new polypropylene (PP) product family that significantly reduces the weight of moulded applications for white goods. This innovative PP base resin has 10% selected micro-scale filler and utilises advanced compounding technology and provides weight savings of between 8-24% compared with traditional PP compounds currently used by the appliance industry.
New Borcom™ polypropylene from Borealis offers significant weight savings for interior automotive applications
Borealis has launched a new Borcom™ microcomposite, the first generation of a new polypropylene (PP) product family designed to bring significant weight reduction to a range of interior automotive applications. Based on an innovative PP base resin with 10% selected micro-scale filler and utilising advanced compounding technology, Borcom WG 140AI can provide weight savings up to 8% compared with traditional 20% mineral filled PP compounds used by the industry.
Borealis delivers stability advantages with polypropylene in fibre optic cables
Borealis has launched a new polypropylene (PP) compound able to satisfy all the performance criteria for different fibre optic cable constructions such as loose tube and slotted core. An innovative extension of the established Borealis communication cable product family, the new PP1112 grade provides a solution to the dimensional stability issue that had previously prevented PP from entering this application field.
New Advanced Borseal™ products give extra benefits in packaging
New, Advanced Borseal™ terpolymers have been launched by Borealis that provide solutions to previously unsatisfied needs in biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP). The new grades significantly reduce fumes and processing downtime, and provide higher gloss and improved transparency compared to previous grades.
Borealis announces ‘next generation’ innovation for PP-R hot and cold water pressure pipe systems
Borealis has brought a major raw material innovation to the hot and cold water pressure pipe sector with the development of Beta-PPR™ RA7050. It delivers a clear improvement in the long term strength compared to current Polypropylene Random Copolymer (PP-R) materials, enabling PP-R to be even more competitive in the hot & coldwater house-installations.
BorECO™ polypropylene is an economic solution that meets the future needs of non-pressure pipe applications
Borealis is at the forefront of polypropylene (PP) material advances. Its long-established relationships with many stakeholders in the pipe industry have enabled Borealis to convert market needs into BorECO™ PP solutions that benefit all members of the value chain: Converters, installers, end-user utilities and communities.
Borcoat™ polyethylene coating protects major crude oil pipeline in Turkey
Borcoat™ polyethylene (PE) pipe coating material from Borealis was selected to provide corrosion protection for the Turkish section of the 1760km Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, running from Azerbaijan through Georgia to Turkey, from where crude oil is shipped to markets worldwide.
Borstar® enhanced polyethylene film provides substantial improvements for undercover crop cultivation
For farmers in the world’s developing regions, low density polyethylene film (LDPE) provides an effective, economic alternative to glass for the protection and enhancement of small vegetable and flower crops. However, conventional LDPE film materials tend quickly to deteriorate, particularly in conditions of strong sunlight or, if UV protected, inhibit light penetration and reduce crop growth potential.
Borstar® solution for largest-ever polyethylene water pipeline in Pakistan
Borstar® enhanced polyethylene (PE) from Borouge has been selected for pipe in an 800km water supply and environmental improvement project in Pakistan. This is the country’s largest-ever PE pipeline for drinking water. In the first phase of the project, which serves the ancient city of Quetta, 300km of pipes have been installed and came into service in July this year.
