Borealis to showcase latest innovations at Interplastica
Hall 1, Stand 1E32
Interplastica 2008
January 29 – February 1, 2008
Krasnaya Presnya Exhibition Fairground, Moscow
Borealis, a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions, invites plastics processors, product manufacturers and designers to learn more about the benefits of polyethylene and polypropylene materials at Interplastica 2008, which takes place in Moscow from January 29 until February 1, 2008. Visitors can experience first-hand how Borealis is providing solutions that deliver improved production efficiency and end-product benefits to a wide range of industries and applications.
Representatives from Borealis will present the company’s latest innovations in infrastructure, automotive and advanced packaging, especially applications of particular interest to the Russian market.
The continuous improvement and expansion of Russia’s infrastructure create a huge market for Borealis’ innovative materials, which are used for the production of high quality energy transmission and distribution cables, and pipe coatings.
The Russian packaging market demonstrates significant growth driven by economic development and consumer preferences for modern and attractive packaging. Borealis’ advanced packaging solutions focus on the production efficiency, performance, waste reduction and environmental benefits that can be achieved for a wide range of applications.
For the flexible packaging market, typical applications include carrier bags, heavy duty shipping sacks and cast film for bread packaging. An example of sustainable advanced packaging featured at the show is Borealis’ Borpact BC918CF grade, which is the latest innovation for packaging film that allows for downgauging and cost and material savings of up to 20%.
For the Russian rigid packaging sector, Borealis offers a wide variety of solutions, such as a new assortment of thin wall packaging grades and a new organoleptic PP grade, RE450MO, offering expanded design possibilities for closures while maintaining the odour and the taste of the drink.
Machine manufacturer Netstal will be running Borealis’ thin wall packaging grade RJ470MO on its injection moulding equipment at the Textima stand in Hall Forum, Stand FF44. With a high fluidity Melt Flow Rate of 70, this grade provides optimum transparency, quick demoulding and high output for containers with very thin walls.
Vladimir Petrushkin, Borealis Sales Manager, comments: “With a growing tendency by Russian manufacturers to use lightweight plastics to substitute traditional materials, Borealis welcomes the new opportunities this is bringing for our innovations to make a real difference to production efficiency, energy reductions, material usage, and, ultimately, to consumers themselves. We are currently the leading supplier of innovative plastics solutions in the region, and we are looking forward to further strengthening our contact with the Russian market through Interplastica.”
