Nanogel® aerogel, the world's lightest and best solid insulating material, is now available with Kalwall® translucent panels. The benefits of this extraordinary product are unique insulating and energy-saving properties combined with daylighting.

Kalwall Plus with Nanogel® , is a new outstanding insulating system that transmits 'museum quality' daylight with extremely low thermal conductivity and a decrease in sound transmission. Moreover, because the Nanogel material is hydrophobic, it does not absorb moisture and maintains stable performance over the product’s working life.

Kalwall Plus with Nanogel® is most suitable for translucent walls or roofing, where enhanced daylighting is required together with high levels of energy saving. With an achievable panel U value of 0.28 W/m2K, the system can be as energy efficient as a solid wall. This means it can be used to introduce daylighting through surfaces that would normally be opaque.

Nanogel® translucent aerogel, a translucent granular form of silica aerogel comprising 95% air originally designed for use in the science and aerospace industries, is now available only from Cabot Corporation. Kalwall Plus with Nanogel® diffuses natural light without glare, shadows or hotspots. Unlike glass, it provides privacy and eliminates any need for blinds and curtains.
