CHEMTURA’S ZAHALKA TO CHAIR CATALYST/POLYMER SESSION AT 2006 INTERNATIONAL POLYOLEFINS CONFERENCE

Middlebury, CT - Dr. Hayder Zahalka, Chemtura Global Technology, will chair the session on "Recent Developments in Catalyst and Polymers” at the 2006 International Polyolefins Conference at the Wyndham Greenspoint Hotel in Houston, Texas, February 26 - March 1.

Its theme: “From Reserves to Retailers: The Changes Confronting the Polyolefins Business Worldwide.”

Dr. Zahalka’s session, Monday afternoon, February 27, will focus on:

• Developments in Metallocene catalyst for polypropylene

• Developments in Chevron Philips Chromium Catalyst for polyethylene

• Developments in gas-phase polyethylene and novel products.

• Novel developments in ethylene-alpha olefin polymers and their applications.

Dr. Zahalka is the America’s Technical Manager for Aluminum Alkyls & Catalyst, High Performance Stabilizers, Amides & Stearates and the Leader of the Polymer Additives Solution Center in Morgantown, WV.

Dr. Zahalka is an expert in catalysis, polymerization and polymer stabilization. He was an Adjunct Professor of Chemistry and the author of more than 68 publications. Dr. Zahalka was the President of the 2002 Canadian High Polymer Conference and in RETEC 2005 he organized a session dedicated to “Advances in polymerization and Catalyst”.
