CHEMTURA NAMES DR. CHETLAND VP, GLOBAL HIGH PERFORMANCE INDUSTRIES

Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) has appointed Dr. Janet Chetland VP, Global High Performance Industries. She reports directly to Polymer Additives Group President Anne Noonan.

Dr. Chetland is responsible for global strategy, implementation and financial results for the high performance businesses, She will lead both commercial and technological programs and will set business policies which fully embrace Chemtura's corporate values

The Global High Performance Industries business has three units: Industrial and Petroleum Industries, Fine Chemicals and Polymers, and Catalysts and Inhibitors.

Dr Chetland said that “by aligning with our customers and understanding their end markets, we will be better able to anticipate their future requirements. We will focus on areas where we can truly differentiate Chemtura and specifically bring added value. We will build our strategy around those industry segments that will ensure the high performance product portfolio provides sustainable and profitable growth.”

Dr. Chetland most recently served as Chemtura’s Business Director, Phosphorus Flame Retardants. She began her career in the laboratories at Associated Octel; when that company was purchased by Great Lakes Chemical Corporation (now Chemtura), she joined its Brominated Performance Products business, where she served in increasingly responcible positions in marketing and business management.

Dr. Chetland holds a joint honors degree in Chemistry and Physiology from Salford University and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Liverpool University.
