CHEMTURA URETHANES ANNOUNCES FOUR NEW APPOINTMENTS

Middlebury, CT—Middlebury, CT - Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) announces the appointment of four new specialists in its Urethanes business.

Ian Laskowitz, Application and Design Engineer. Ian will assist customers in failure analysis, part design and corresponding material selection and processing techniques. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Plastics Engineering from Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. His experience includes design and finite element analysis engineering in the thermoplastic injection molding industry, where he worked on mold and part design, material selection, and process troubleshooting. Ian will be based at Chemtura’s Middlebury, Connecticut Headquarters.

Jonathan Sterling, Quality Control Supervisor for the company’s Gastonia, North Carolina production facility. He holds Bachelor’s degrees in biology and chemistry from the University of South Carolina. Jonathan has held technical and leadership positions in the agrochemical, polymer, and pharmaceutical industries. He is also a medical patent holder. Besides supervising existing quality control functions, Jonathan will be responsible for implementing improved statistical quality controls and statistical process controls.

Frank Agyeman, Chemical Process Engineer at the Gastonia facility. Frank holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology-Ghana and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina A&T University. He has worked in diverse engineering positions and brings both Six Sigma and VSM certification, along with Lean concepts, to his new role. He will be involved in process engineering and process excellence leadership activities.

Gerald King, Technical Service Manager for the Europe, Africa and Middle East (EAME) region. Gerry holds a Higher National Diploma in mechanical and electrical engineering, Post Graduate Diploma in plastics and rubber technology, and a Master of Science in polymer science and polymer engineering, all from the University of Ulster. He was previously global technical manager for polyurethane technology for Gates Power Transmission in Europe and the U.S. Gerry has a strong background in cast and injection moldable polyurethane as well as in process excellence tools. He has worked in the US, Japan, and Europe, and is fluent in German.
