CHEMTURA ADDS MORE VALUE WITH WIDE RANGE OF PRODUCTS AT K- SHOW, 17TH INTERNATIONAL PLASTICS TRADE FAIR IN DÜSSELDORF
Chemtura Corporation will exhibit their extensive line of new and existing flame retardants, antioxidants, UV stabilizers, polymerization additives and intermediates for vinyl, polyolefins and other plastics at K-Show, the 17th International Trade Fair for Plastics & Rubber. K 2007 will take place October 24-31 in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Created in July 2005 by the merger of Crompton Corporation and Great Lakes Chemical Corporation, Chemtura today is a $3.7 billion Corporation and the world’s largest manufacturer of plastics additives with sales of $1.5 billion, more than the combined sales of the next two largest manufacturers. At K2007 Chemtura will demonstrate how their broad spectrum of products adds value to a wide range of chemistries while helping to solve specific customer problems.
Chemtura products being introduced at K2007 include: MARK® OBS® Organic-Based Stabilizers, now more cost-effective than calcium zinc alternatives for both rigid and flexible PVC applications; Firemaster® 600 and 602 flame retardants that are 10% more efficient for protecting polyurethane foams; Polybond® coupling agents such as Polybond® 1103 for processes and applications requiring very low melt viscosity; and Naugard® 300-E inhibitor that improves efficiency and control of styrene monomer production processes Chemtura is also developing improved coupling agent and lubricant products for wood/plastic composites.
Along with ongoing product development, Chemtura announced that it is meeting customers’ needs by increasing production of epoxy plasticizers by 15% at their Taft, Louisiana plant in response to a competitor’s closing of a large production facility.
Earlier this year, Chemtura announced the implementation of a market-facing reorganization that focuses on four end-use markets: Building & Construction, Electrical & Electronics, Consumer, and High-Performance applications. Robert Wood, Chemtura’s chairman and chief executive officer, stated, “As we evolve from a functional to an industry-focused commercial organization, we will present a more coordinated face to customers and have better insight into their current and future needs.”
Group President Anne P. Noonan leads Polymer Additives, which includes the former Plastic Additives and Flame Retardant business units. Ms. Noonan said, “Chemtura’s industry-based business model will enable us to better position ourselves to serve our customers, add value to their products, and anticipate their future requirements.”
Chemtura will present their new structure and extended plastics portfolio in Hall 6, stand number C07.
