Change in the Board of Directors of Clariant
Muttenz, 15 February 2012 – At the 17th Annual General Meeting of Clariant Ltd on March 27, 2012, Dr. Jürg Witmer will step down from his roles as Chairman and Member of Clariant Ltd's Board of Directors. The Board has appointed the current Vice-Chairman Dr. Rudolf Wehrli as his successor.

Clariant recommends repeal of restriction on voting rights
Muttenz, 15 February 2012 – Clariant will propose the repeal of the restriction on voting rights for shareholders with a participation of more than 10% of the share capital to the 17th Annual General Meeting on 27 March 2012. In doing so, the Board of Directors is taking up an identical proposal submitted to the company by shareholder zCapital AG (Zug, Switzerland) on 2 February 2012.

Clariant improves profitability, reinstates dividend
- Full-year sales increased by 16% in local currency and 4% in CHF
- EBITDA margin before exceptional items rose to 13.2% from 12.7% in 2010
- Net income improved to CHF 251 million from CHF 191 million in 2010
- Dividend payment resumed at CHF 0.30 per share through reduction of par value
- Outlook: Clariant expects further sales growth in local currencies and sustained profitability in 2012 as the global economy is expected to progressively strengthen in the course of the year.
