Clariant Opens New Catalyst R&D Lab in Brazil for Oil & Gas Industries
Muttenz, June 25, 2013 - Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, opened a new R&D Laboratory for Catalysts for Chemicals and Oil & Gas industries. Located in the company's largest manufacturing plant of Latin America, in Suzano (Brazil), the laboratory begins operations with a complete infrastructure, state of the art equipment and well qualified team of researchers dedicated to develop new generations of catalysts as well as providing technical support to customers in the region.

Clariant registers 255 chemicals with EU
Muttenz, June 20, 2013 - Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, completed Phase 2 of REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals) on 31 May with the registration of 255 different chemical substances. These include 155 dossiers submitted by Clariant as the "lead registrant", amounting to 5.3% of all substances registered for the first time in the EU in this second REACH phase.

Clariant Signs Cooperation Agreement to Implement SNG Plant and Catalysts in China
Muttenz, June 13, 2013 - Clariant, a world leader in Specialty Chemicals, today announced that it has signed a long-term cooperation agreement with Wison Engineering Ltd and a subsidiary in Foster Wheeler's Global Engineering and Construction Group, to equip a pilot plant for demonstration of Foster Wheeler's VESTA substitute natural gas (SNG) technology with catalysts of Clariant. The pilot plant will be constructed in China and is planned to go on-stream during 2013.

Clariant achieves a further milestone in the manufacture of second-generation bioethanol
Muttenz, June 3, 2013 - Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, is demonstrating the international potential of its process for manufacturing sustainable biofuel through the expansion of sunliquid® technology to further agricultural residues. Following the opening of Germany’s largest demonstration plant for manufacturing ethanol from agricultural residues in July 2012, the company now has new findings, which show that corn stover, the most valuable raw material in North America, and sugarcane bagasse, a cellulose-rich by-product of sugar and ethanol production in Latin America and Asia, can also be converted efficiently in the process. European wheat straw has primarily been used to date, and has delivered good results that have even exceeded the expectations of the process developers in some aspects.

Trend booklet showing for Autumn/Winter 2014-15 fashion and color themes full of contrasts. The simplicity of modern urban life contrasts with the rebirth of an opulent empire style; the down-to-earth life of Victorian industrial workers contrasts with an overworldly view of the cosmos. The color groups, too, selected in close cooperation with Modeurop, the Fashion Pool at DSI (Deutsches Schuhinstitut GmbH), contrast - from lightness over intensity to darkness, though they can be combined homogeneously within the respective color groups. The Fashion up! Trend booklet illustrates actual leather samples which were developed during an international trend workshop and which helps Clariant's customers to create their own collections.
