Clariant to grow in Australia with new masterbatches plant

Muttenz, August 12, 2014 - Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, announces plans to build its newest masterbatches plant in greater Sydney Area, Australia. The new plant will mainly serve the Australian market with a full range of color and additive masterbatches, technically innovative solutions and services to meet the growing local needs. Construction on the plant is currently underway, with plans of commissioning in the fourth quarter 2014.

Clariant confirms outlook on solid Q2 results

"The first half-year 2014 was characterized by a more favorable but still volatile and challenging business environment compared to the previous year," said CEO Hariolf Kottmann. "Under these conditions, Clariant achieved good volume growth in both the first and the second quarter, supported by solid pricing. Based at Clariant's largest US production hub, the state-of-the-art facility will combine innovative catalysts - jointly developed by both companies with high-capacity output to serve the fast growing polypropylene industry.
