Clariant to grow in Australia with new masterbatches plant
Muttenz, August 12, 2014 - Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, announces plans to build its newest masterbatches plant in greater Sydney Area, Australia. The new plant will mainly serve the Australian market with a full range of color and additive masterbatches, technically innovative solutions and services to meet the growing local needs. Construction on the plant is currently underway, with plans of commissioning in the fourth quarter 2014.

Clariant confirms outlook on solid Q2 results
"The first half-year 2014 was characterized by a more favorable but still volatile and challenging business environment compared to the previous year," said CEO Hariolf Kottmann. "Under these conditions, Clariant achieved good volume growth in both the first and the second quarter, supported by solid pricing. With unfavorable currency developments expected to soften, the strength of our portfolio makes us cautiously optimistic going into the second half of the year."

CB&I and Clariant’s Polypropylene Catalyst Partnership off to a Successful Start
Muttenz, July 22, 2014 - CB&I (NYSE:CBI) and Clariant announced today its new Ziegler-Natta (ZN) polypropylene catalyst production plant in Louisville, Kentucky, is on schedule to begin production in 2015. The plant is part of a long-term strategic partnership between Clariant’s Catalysts business unit and CB&I's Lummus Novolen Technology business. Based at Clariant's largest US production hub, the state-of-the-art facility will combine innovative catalysts - jointly developed by both companies with high-capacity output to serve the fast growing polypropylene industry.

Clariant completes the sale of its Water Treatment Business to South African AECI

The total value of the divestment amounts to CHF 34 million in cash at closing. The transaction was subject to certain precedent conditions, as well as regulatory approvals.

Clariant responds to growing demand - 50% capacity increase for innovative Licocene® Performance Polymers
