Groundbreaking for Clariant’s sunliquid® cellulosic ethanol plant in Romania
Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, today officially started construction of the first large-scale commercial sunliquid plant for the production of cellulosic ethanol made from agricultural residues. At the flagship facility, the sunliquid technology developed by the company is being used on an industrial scale for the first time. The occasion was marked with a traditional groundbreaking ceremony in Podari near Craiova in southwestern Romania, which was attended by official representatives of the Romanian government, the Swiss Ambassador Urs Herren, and a Clariant representation headed by Christian Kohlpaintner, Member of the Executive Committee.

Clariant confirms SABIC to complete purchase of 24.99% stake in Clariant after receiving all regulatory approvals
Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, today announced that SABIC has received the final outstanding regulatory approvals from the competition authorities for the purchase of a 24.99% stake in Clariant. Therefore, an unconditional closing of the purchase will take place in the next days which makes SABIC Clariant’s largest strategic anchor shareholder, and second anchor shareholder beside the group of former shareholders of Süd-Chemie.

Clariant and Save the Children partner to stop the spread of malaria in Myanmar
Clariant, a world-leader in specialty chemicals and Save the Children, one of the the world’s largest independent children's rights organisations, today announced a partnership to help stem the spread of malaria in Myanmar. Clariant Q1, 2018 Profit grows to Rs.15.30 crores
Clariant Chemicals (India) Limited, India's leading specialty chemicals producer, reported sales of Rs. 264 crore, for the quarter ended June 30, 2018, as against Rs. 258 crore, on a comparable basis for the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The PBITDA for the quarter ended June 30, 2018, stood at Rs. 24.81 crore, as compared to Rs. 7.20 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
