Clariant presents its new AddWorks titanium-based catalyst solutions for polyester polymerization at K 2025, the world's premier trade fair for plastics and rubber.
Set to launch in 2026, this technology offers a more sustainable and high-performance alternative to traditional antimony-based catalysts, addressing both environmental concerns and supply chain challenges, and simplifying PET recycling to support circularity in the polyester industry. While the initial focus is on PET due to its large global market, Clariant’s titanium-based catalyst solutions are designed to work across the entire polyester family, including PETG, PCT, PBT, PTT, PBAT, TPEE, and even emerging polyesters like PEF, by acting as a highly effective transesterification/polycondensation catalyst.

Clariant to supply catalyst to SYPOX for world’s largest electric steam methane reformer
Clariant, a sustainability-focused specialty chemical company, today announced a supply agreement with SYPOX to manufacture and deliver catalysts for what will be the world’s largest electric steam methane reformer (e-SMR). This groundbreaking project combines SYPOX’s cutting-edge electrical reformer technology with Clariant’s expertise to enable syngas production with significantly reduced CO2 emissions. Scheduled to begin operations in 2026, the e-SMR will use 10 megawatts of renewable electricity to generate approximately 150 tons of syngas daily.

Clariant Oil Services and Swire Energy Services open new supply base in Norway supporting European energy production
Clariant Oil Services, a leading producer and supplier of specialty oilfield production chemicals and services to the oil and gas industry, has expanded its commitment to Norwegian Oil and Gas customers with a new bulk storage and transfer base located in Dusavik, Norway together with its long-standing strategic partner Swire Energy Services. The new site consists of multiple bulk storage tanks with transfer capability to supply either directly to vessels or tote tanks. The system is fully automated to ensure chemicals are transferred accurately and efficiently, and full operations are expected in September 2025.
