Clariant launches new urea-free paper brightener with highest whiteness levels
Muttenz, June 03, 2010 - Clariant, a leading company in optical brightening agents, offers paper manufacturers new opportunities to achieve the highest possible whiteness levels for printing and writing paper with the launch of Leucophor® VHR liquid. The optical brightening agent (OBA) is the latest addition to Clariant’s innovative Leucophor range.
Leucophor VHR is a urea-free, brilliant, high white OBA. Designed primarily for size-press applications, Leucophor VHR gives state-of-the-art performance with ColorLok™ Technology in size-press applications to make ColorLok™ Paper. The OBA also maintains excellent performance with standard size-press applications.
ColorLok Paper is a new standard developed by HP andInternational Paper that improves ink drying speed and definition on office papers, creating extra sharpness, bolder blacks and more vivid colors. ColorLok Paper is compatible with inkjet, laser and copier machines.
The OBA is listed in the European List of Notified Chemical Substances (ELINCS) and as such is considered already to be REACH-registered.
