Clariant Oil Services to present at 2016 SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition
- Clariant Oil Services will make two presentations and co-chair key session
- Conference and Exhibition showcases a wide range of topics through 54 technical sessions
Houston, TX, September 1, 2016 – Clariant Oil Services today announced that it will present two technical papers at the Society of Petroleum Engineers Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (SPE ATCE), September 26 - 28, at the Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai, UAE. In addition, a Clariant representative will co-chair one of the technical sessions, further demonstrating Clariant’s leadership in specialty chemicals and services.
Clariant Oil Services will present on the following topics:
PHASETREAT® and FLOCTREAT® fluid separation technologies.
- SPE181293: The Influence of Fluid Ratios on Produced Water Separation and Quality of Chemical EOR
- This paper, which highlights the challenges associated with separating oil from water during the course of a chemical EOR process, will be presented by Dr. Anton Kaiser, Global Innovation Manager, EOR, Clariant Oil Services, on Monday, September 26, at 9:15 a.m. in the Ajman D room
LIBERATE® production enhancement technologies
- SPE181290: A New Class of Renewable Surfactants for Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery
- This paper, which highlights the use of sugar-based surfactant technology for chemical EOR flooding, representing a sustainably sourced material in this petroleum feedstock-dominated application, will be presented by Dr. Anton Kaiser, on Wednesday, September 28, at 9:45 a.m. in the Sharjah D room
In addition to the above presentations, Amir Mahmoudkhani, Global Innovation Manager, Emerging Technologies, Clariant Oil Services, will co-chair the Well Operation Best Practices and Case Studies session, which will be held on Monday, September 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Al Ain J room. This session will highlight well operations and will examine case studies illustrating where effective well operations have helped maximize well uptime and best practices have led to successful start-up of inactive wells through rig-less operations. Selected fields are from Middle East countries, the North Sea and deepwater Africa.
Since the first meeting 92 years ago, the Society of Petroleum Engineers' Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) has attracted more than a half million of the E&P industry's greatest minds from around the globe. Reflecting the global industry, the ATCE is becoming an increasingly important international event. Florence hosted ATCE in 2008, Amsterdam hosted the conference in 2014, and in 2016, SPE announced that the event was to be held in the Middle East for the first time, in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
