Clariant donates RMB100,000 to Sichuan earthquake disaster relief efforts

Shanghai, August 17, 2017 – Clariant, a world-leader in specialty chemicals, has made a donation of RMB100,000 to the Shanghai Charity Foundation in a disaster relief effort in the aftermath of the recent earthquake that took place in Jiuzhaigou of the Sichuan province in China. The donation is made in line with Clariant's long-standing corporate philosophy of exemplifying good corporate citizenship.

"We are indeed saddened by the catastrophic natural disaster that has hit Sichuan recently. The donation from Clariant is a small token of our blessing for those who are adversely affected during the earthquake," says Jan Kreibaum, Clariant's Regional President of Greater China. "As the rescue and recovering efforts continue in Sichuan, we wish everyone the best in accomplishing their missions." The donation will go directly to the disaster relief efforts led by the Shanghai Charity Foundation to support rebuilding of the beautiful city and landscape in Sichuan after the catastrophe.

As one of the leading specialty chemical companies in China, Clariant has been actively pursuing sustainable community development. In addition to efforts on disaster relief, Clariant has been running the HOPES program in China since 2014. The program regularly raises funds and organizes school activities to support students in the community to develop a more fulfilling school life.
