Clariant Masterbatches Products and Solutions On Display at Saudi Plastics Trade Show

Muttenz, January 23, 2018 - Clariant, a world leader in Specialty Chemicals, with its Masterbatches business unit, is participating at the Saudi Plastics & Petrochemicals 2018 trade fair (Saudi PP 2018) taking place at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center, 21 - 24 January. Clariant is exhibiting in Booth 716-1.
At the plastics trade fair, Clariant is talking to visitors about how its products and services can help plastics industry customers respond to the challenges of the global megatrends in Lifestyle, Health & Nutrition, Urbanization and Mobility.
“We all want to help people live better, healthier and more sustainably,” explains Nahidh Safadi, Head of Clariant Masterbatches, Saudi Arabia. “Our broad portfolio of color and additive masterbatches enhance the safety, performance and appearance of real-world products designed to satisfy the needs, desires and dreams of consumers.”
As examples, he points to additives, such as antimicrobials for fibers in sportswear, and a full range of colors for the carpet industry, which match up with the Lifestyle trend. In Health & Nutrition, Clariant support the food and beverage, and medical/pharmaceutical markets with products that comply with increasingly stringent regulations. Masterbatch solutions for engineering polymers and additives like flame retardants help meet construction industry needs in the Urbanization process. Sustainable additives include chain extenders that allow increased use of recycled plastics and foaming agents that reduce the weight of automobile parts to save energy and improve Mobility.
Clariant is also celebrating its expanding presence in Saudi Arabia and in the broader Middle East/Africa region. With the recent completion of a new production site in Yanbu Industrial Zone 2, and existing manufacturing and laboratory facilities in Riyadh, “Clariant is in an excellent position to satisfy the growing demands of the market,” Safadi said. He adds: “We assume also this investment is very much aligned with Saudi Arabia vision 2030 and will support the growth and local content of plastic industries as well.”
