Clariant unveils color forecasts and leather trends for Autumn/Winter 2011-12
Muttenz, May 28, 2010 - Clariant launches a new edition of its Global Color Card and Leather Trend Booklet “Fashion Up!” in preparation for the Autumn/Winter 2011-12 season.
Based on the input of internationally known trend institutes and fashion specialists, “Fashion Up!” contains real leather samples to support tanners in generating new collections based on the latest seasonal trends. The Trend Booklet illustrates the new look of Autumn/Winter 2011-12. Clariant’s four leather trends share new inspirations with its customers and bring this season to life. Modernity and futurism on the one hand, with tradition, magic and mysticism on the other. A season full of contrasts, but with one combining element: awareness and concern for the environment.
Clariant’s Trend Booklet highlights four fashion themes for the Autumn/Winter 2011-12 season.
Country estates and the landed gentry move the countryside story onward in Country House. The classical British heritage of historic old houses and equestrianism provide the inspiration. Sturdy tweeds and suit fabrics are mixed with antiqued leathers and suede.
In Mountain Trail the rough and rugged story continues, heading high into the mountains. Outdoor pursuits such as hiking, climbing and hill walking give the inspiration. Tough leathers, rough suede and canvas are perfect for the great outdoors.
A night at the opera and the high drama of the theatre inspire a return to luxury and opulence in Masquerade. The lavish costumes of the performers illustrate the renewed interest in fine handcrafting. Sumptuous fabrics such as velvet, lace and satin are teamed with glossy or metallic leathers.
Urban Hub is inspired by the concrete jungle and life in the metropolis which gives rise to a more minimal, edgy look. Sporty styling highlights clean lines and an ultra modern feel. Tough leathers with an urban attitude are brought into the future with high-tech fabrics and space age finishes.
All newly-introduced leather trends are in-line with the fashion colors of the season Autumn/Winter 2011-12. These colors are presented in Clariant’s Global Color Card, developed in close cooperation with MODEUROP, the fashion forecast group at DSI (Das Schuhinstitut).
The Global Color Card focuses on cool, dark and partially metallic shades which stand alongside earthy, very natural colors. Warm and feminine variations harmoniously complete this new color palette. Diversity is celebrated by mixing soft, very natural and rather matt looking tones with glittering elements. Metallics add glitter to elegant and exclusive articles.
All illustrated colors from Clariant’s Global Color Card show Wet End formulations achieved with the outstanding Melioderm® dyestuff range covering all your dyeing needs. The finishing recipes are based on Clariant`s innovative Neosan® 2000 and PPE® Pigment range.
