Clariant’s Leather Services Business to raise prices
Muttenz, December 16, 2010 - Clariant Business Unit Leather Services announces price increases for its product ranges of 6% to 12%.
The adjustments reflect rising feedstock prices caused by a continuing shortage in raw materials, in combination with increasing energy and transportation costs.
“We have absorbed significant cost increases already through production optimization and other efficiency-increasing measures introduced during the course of 2010. However, further cost reduction programs would jeopardize the quality of service we deliver to our customers,” comments Oliver Kinkel, Head of BU Leather Services at Clariant International Ltd.
“Our objective – based on a long-term commitment to the leather industry - is a continuous supply of high performance leather chemicals and further innovation, which enables our customers to improve their productivity and enhance the quality of their products.”
Clariant’s customers will be contacted individually regarding the specifics of the price increases as they apply.
