Clariant announces First Quarter price increase in Oil & Mining Services business
Muttenz, January 10, 2011 - The Oil & Mining Services business of Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, announces a price increase of 5-15% effective for First Quarter 2011.
The price adjustments are necessary to offset significant increases in raw material, transportation and energy costs. The business is contacting its customers individually regarding details and specific timing of the price increases.
"We have absorbed significant cost increases already throughout the past few quarters using Lean Sigma and other efficiency measures,” says Chris Oversby, Vice President & General Manager of Clariant’s global Oil & Mining Services business. “However, the size of the latest cost increases that we are seeing in Q1 necessitates this price adjustment."
"Our objective is to continue to provide cost-effective and innovative solutions to the industries that we serve and, in doing so, continue to add value to our customers’ operations."
