Clariant simplifies ingredient choice for personal care formulators
Concept strategy for personal care customers
Clear identification of ingredients and benefits
Guide recipes for all aspects of personal care and deco cosmetics
Muttenz, 29 March 2011 – Clariant takes the complexity out of creating the right formulation for specific personal care and decorative cosmetic product needs with on-going updates to its Concepts and Selection Guides for formulators.
In-cosmetics 2011 visitors will see the latest evolution in Clariant’s approach to help customers clearly identify the raw materials they require from its extensive product portfolio.
Since introducing its application concept strategy in April 2009, the specialty chemicals expert now provides the optimum solution through a broad number of concepts and selection guides. When looking to achieve specific characteristics, formulators targeting certain market segments will now be able to benefit from a simplified ingredient choice.
The concepts encompass materials from Clariant’s vast product ranges offering performance enhancement, processing advantages and reduced environmental impact. The ranges include surfactants, actives, emulsifiers, rheology modifiers for superb skin sensorics, and synergistic aids for viscosity and effective preservation. Many of the ingredients are Ecocert approved and fall within Clariant’s EcoTain range of natural and sustainable products.
Currently Clariant developments include:
• Youth concept: Clariant’s latest concept focused on guide recipes to meet the specific skin, hair and make-up challenges of teenagers and young adults.
• Men’s care: raw materials and guide formulations for cleansing, shaving, skin care, face care, sun care and hair care, especially suited for men
• Sunny times: products for the perfect chassis of a sunscreen formulation
• Wet wipes: formulation choices for different wipe types and preservation needs
• For a colorful wellbeing: raw materials for decorative cosmetics
• Silicone-free: ingredients for a velvet or silk skin feel without the use of silicones
• Get in touch with performance: Clariant’s range of Aristoflex® rheology modifiers and polymeric emulsifiers for thickening and texture enhancement
• Safe and reliable preservation: using blends based on Piroctone Olamine (PO)
For customers looking for a specific kind of product, Clariant’s Product Selection Guides help formulators to quickly and easily select the one most suited to their formulation needs. Latest updates include:
• Emulsifier Selection Guide: from body lotions to eyeliners, insect repellent and sunscreen, for spray, liquid or lotion. This guide highlights the benefits, main properties, main uses and eco-criteria for its ranges of Hostaphat®, Hostacerin® and SilCare® Silicone WSI emulsifiers.
“Giving our customers the optimum in quality and convenience is an integral part of Clariant’s support. By concentrating our portfolio into dedicated application sectors and divisions that indicate specific performance attributes, it is much easier for customers to identify and select the ingredients or guide recipes for addressing their individual formulation goals,” comments Anne Timm, Head of Sales & Application, Personal Care EMEA at Clariant. “We are pleased to be able to update in-cosmetics 2011 visitors on our latest advances in simplifying ingredient choice.”
