Clariant building blocks for smart solutions at Chemspec Europe

Muttenz, 18 May 2011 – Under the banner 'Enabling Smart Solutions’ Clariant features a strong line-up of building blocks and new solvents Highsolv® P99 and Highsolv® E99 for organic synthesis at Chemspec Europe in Geneva (Hall 1 Stand H20, Palexpo, June 15-16, 2011).

Clariant is one of the worldwide leaders for production of Glyoxal and Glyoxylic acid, with over 40 years of experience with these complex and sensitive molecules. These two building blocks offer the smallest possible bifunctional entities to produce aliphatic, aromatic molecules and heterocycles.

Their structure makes them highly flexible tailormade C2 derivatives with a wide range of reactivity and specificity for a wide variety of applications, including pharmaceutical and agrochemicals intermediates, flavors and fragrances, cosmetics, dyestuff, fine chemicals, polymers and other specialty chemicals.

At Chemspec, Clariant will highlight the development of these intermediates, such as mandelic and phenyl acetic acids, 2- coumaranone, glyoxylic acid esters, dimethoxyethyl amines, dimethoxyethanal and a large number of their derivatives, as well as new solvents Highsolv P99 and Highsolv E99.
