Clariant takes performance- and efficiency-enhancing building blocks to Indian chemical processing community
Muttenz, November 30, 2011 - Clariant is offering India’s chemical processing community new opportunities to benefit from the efficiency-enhancement and performance-boosting potential of its trusted portfolio of fine chemical building blocks and enhancers.
Clariant is one of the worldwide leaders in the production of Glyoxal and Glyoxylic acid, with over 40 years of experience manufacturing excellence in this chemistry. These two molecules offer the smallest possible bifunctional entities from which a wide variety of aliphatic, aromatic molecules and heterocycles can be synthesized.
Their structure makes them highly flexible to tailor-made C2 derivatives with a wide range of reactivity and specificity for a wide variety of applications: pharmaceutical and agrochemical intermediates, flavors and fragrances, cosmetics, dyestuff, fine chemicals, polymers and other specialty chemicals.
Developments of these intermediates include mandelic and phenyl acetic acids, 2- coumaranone, glyoxylic acid esters, dimethoxyethyl amines, dimethoxyethanal and a large number of their derivatives, as well as Clariant’s new solvents Highsolv® P99 and Highsolv® E99.
Advanced solvents Highsolv P99 and Highsolv E99 are leading the way in offering favourable toxicological properties and easy handling for pharmaceutical applications. These extensions to Clariant’s trusted portfolio of fine chemical building blocks and enhancers improve efficiency and provide yield-boosting potential for organic synthesis. This makes them a viable replacement for commonly used toxic and flammable solvents such as THF, dichloromethane, toluene, and NMP.
“India is a huge growing market, and with demand for chemical intermediates rising we believe our globally-renowned building blocks have much to offer to this market. Clariant’s portfolio of high quality and high purity tailored solutions delivers efficiency and performance enhancement to aid the processing of sensitive applications. Through a close working relationship we can help customers to maximize the benefits of our versatile molecules,” comments Silke Wetzenstein, Product Manager Building Blocks of Clariant’s Business Unit Dergents & Intermediates.
“Our customers see us at the higher end of the technology ladder. This is ably backed up by efficient manufacturing facilities at Lamotte, in France, giving us a strong position of partnering with our customers in India region,“ said Mr. Sunilkumar Deshmukh, Head of Clariant’s Detergents & Intermediates Business Unit in India.
