Clariant Oil Services to Present Four Papers at SPE Conference in UK

  • Presentations will demonstrate expertise in scale control management, foster dicussion with industry leaders
  • Exhibit will showcase knowledge in integrity management and corrosion control

Houston (USA), May 1, 2012 – Clariant Oil Services will present its expertise and solutions for innovative scale control management at the Society of Petroleum Engineers International Conference and Exhibition on Oilfield Scale and Corrosion in Aberdeen, Scotland, on May 28-31, 2012, at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.

Jonathan Wylde, UK Business Manager for Clariant Oil Services, will present a paper he authored entitled, “An Exhaustive Study Of Scaling In The Canadian Bakken: Failure Mechanisms And Innovative Mitigation Strategies From Over 400 Wells.” The paper summarizes the scaling observations made over the producing life of the Canadian Bakken, drawn from treating and servicing more than 400 wells through Southern Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Malcolm Todd, Production Enhancement Team Leader for Clariant Oil Services, will present three papers he authored, including:

  • “Dual Chelant Mechanism for the Deployment of Scale Inhibitors in Controlled Solubility/Precipitation Treatments”
  • “Phosphorus Functionalised Polymeric Scale Inhibitors, Further Developments and Field Deployment”
  • “Qualification of Scale Inhibitors for Heidrun Field under Turbulent Flow Conditions”

Clariant Oil Services will also present an exhibit that focuses on integrity management and corrosion control, as well as scale management and control while promoting its innovative CORRTREAT and SCALETREAT products.
