Clariant Oil Services to present research paper at World Heavy Oil Congress
- Clariant will present paper at industry-leading conference on September 12
- Presentation will focus on theory behind transportation of heavy oil, particularly water transportation mechanisms
Houston, Texas (USA), August 30, 2012 – Clariant Oil Services will present a paper at the World Heavy Oil Congress (WHOC) on September 10-13, 2012, at the Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre in Aberdeen, UK.
Clariant Oil Services is scheduled to present “Heavy Oil Transportation: Advances in Water Continuous Emulsion Methods” at 2:00 P.M. on September 12 in the Forbes location at the Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Center. The presentation will take place during the “Mining and Surface Facilities” session.
The paper, written and presented by Dr. Jonathan J. Wylde, Clariant Oil Services UK Business Manager, discusses how heavy oil transportation can be enhanced by utilizing water emulsion methods. The presentation will cover results of chemical screening for suitable surfactants, the water-oil demulsification process, and implementation of water emulsion methods on several different crude types. Dr. Wylde will also discuss general theory behind heavy oil transportation.
