Clariant puts ecological and efficient performance power in reach at SEPAWA 2012
- Inspiring new ingredients and ranges for detergents, dishwashing, consumer and industrial cleaning products, and personal care applications
- Performance, People, Planet values at the heart of all Clariant developments at SEPAWA 2012 (Booth 658 - 660)
Muttenz, October 23, 2012 – Clariant will take the Home, Fabric & Personal Care and Cleaning Product industries a step closer to achieving their performance, efficiency and ecological goals at the 59th SEPAWA Congress and European Detergents Conference in Fulda, Germany from October 23 – 25, 2012 (Booth 658 - 660).
Displaying its recent company re-branding for the first time at the annual event, Clariant will present a fresh selection of new ingredients and product ranges, for detergents through to skin and hair care formulations, which respond to market trends such as low washing temperatures, natural ingredients, and eco-label status. At the same time, attention-grabbing color possibilities support consumer desire for strong visual appeal.
It will also be the first time that the versatile detergent additives LAUNDROSIL®, LAUNDROCLIN® and Laundrobright® from the former Süd-Chemie product range are presented within Clariant’s current product series.
Clariant’s core brand values of Performance, People, Planet are reflected in the sustainable, cost-effective, and functionality-focused innovations making their debut before the SEPAWA 2012 audience.
- Clariant’s new core range of colorants (dyes, pigments and pigment preparations) that meets the requirements of the Nordic Ecolabel “Nordic Swan” and the EU Ecolabel to support customers in their pursuit of eco-label status for consumer and industrial cleaning products. The Duasyn® and Sanolin® water soluble dyes are available in liquid or powder form and cover a wide range of shades within the color spectrum. Pigments and pigment preparations complete the range and offer a broad variety of color solutions to formulate all desired cleaning products. Clariant has taken the voluntary step of only choosing colorants which are free of any hazard label.
- LAUNDROSIL detergent additives based on natural layered silicates with well selected montmorillonite content are a new addition to Clariant’s portfolio following the integration of Süd-Chemie.
Various additive grades offer solutions to a number of formulation issues: for example, a high degree of fabric whiteness, color protection, and excellent softening performance without the need to use additional fabric softeners for 2-in-1 formulations; colored message carrier granules that are ultra fast dispersing, non-staining, and through-colored, with the potential to incorporate additional active ingredients; and blue-colored photocatalyst granules with high storage stability, fast dispersion and no bleeding of active ingredient.
- New Peractive® MnTACN, a low temperature 3-in-1 performance booster for dishwasher applications. The innovative catalyst system achieves effective performance at very low usage levels of 0.01 – 0.04%. The low concentration is unique in removing tea, coffee and fruit stains even at low temperatures, supporting starch degradation processes and suppressing unwanted silver tarnishing. In addition, minimal ingredient amount reduces both manufacturing inventory and potential environmental impact. The outstanding low temperature washing performance supports energy savings and cost savings for consumers. Peractive MnTACN is compatible with enzymes and p-free builder systems.
- New natural-based biopolymers for the personal care sector. Clariant has responded to the market’s need for natural-based products by launching three new lines of biopolymers that are active ingredients and sensory boosters in skin and hair care – Velsan®, Vitipure™ and Zenvivo™. All are extracted from fungal sources that are non-GMO, inexhaustible, quality constant, traceable and renewable. Vitipure and Zenvivo are certified by ECOCERT, the leading accreditor for organic products; and comply with GMP (FDA and EMEA), HACCP and ISO9001:2008.
- Shower Power with Hostapon® SG. Clariant’s EO-free anionic surfactant offers rich yet mild foams, excellent rinseability and eye-catching beads and sparkle for shower gels and creams.
Alongside its new developments for SEPAWA 2012, Clariant will feature recent innovations driving sustainability through efficiency enhancement. Such as Clariant’s new generation Amine Oxide – Genaminox® CHE – for outstanding performance and cost efficacy in hard surface cleaning; and Clariant’s “Doing your Dishes” formulation concept, which offers performance-boosting innovations for ultra concentrate to low cost hand dishwashing products.
“The addition of new products alongside our trusted formulation innovations emphasizes Clariant’s strength of commitment to support our customers in taking their products and manufacturing to new levels of performance. Efficiency and ecology are key drivers in our customers’ new product development and the quest for consumer appeal, and Clariant’s solutions can make a positive contribution to achieving these goals,” comments Boris Segalowitch, Clariant Business Line Head, Personal Care EMEA.
