- Conference focuses on EOR and heavy oil challenges facing the Middle East and Northern Africa
- Paper written and presented by Dr. Jonathan Wylde, Global Application Development Manager for Clariant Oil Services
Houston, March 5, 2013 – Clariant Oil Services today announced that it will present a paper at the upcoming 2013 International EOR and Heavy Oil Conference, March 4-6, 2013, at the Al-Bustan Palace in Muscat, Oman. The paper, authored and presented by Dr. Jonathan Wylde, Global Application Development Manager for Clariant Oil Services, is titled “Enhanced Oil Recovery Chemical Treatment: Chemistry and Strategies Required for Polymer Breakthrough into the Process.”
Dr. Wylde’s paper discusses the range of challenges enhanced oil recovery (EOR) chemical breakthrough has on the production chemical strategy, drawing on examples such as the effect on separation, scale inhibition and integrity management. It details several lessons learned that can be used to assist the front end engineering and design considerations of EOR strategies, including future-proofing facilities and production chemistry strategies for planned and retrospective EOR flooding projects.
The conference brings together leaders in EOR techniques to present the latest findings and solutions. It focuses specifically on the Middle East and Northern Africa, which has an increased need for innovative oil recovery techniques to address heavy oil discoveries in a number of countries across the region.
Dr. Wylde’s presentation will take place on Monday, March 4 at 4:00 pm, during Session 2: “Case studies and operations of EOR Projects.”
