Clariant Healthcare Packaging promotes growing capacities and product offerings at Pharmapack Europe 2014 Paris

Muttenz, February 12, 2014 - Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, represented by its business line Healthcare Packaging, will exhibit its expanding portfolio of protective packaging for pharmaceuticals at Pharmapack Europe 2014 Paris. A long time leader in pharmaceutical desiccants, oxygen scavengers and specialized container closure systems, Clariant Healthcare Packaging, along with Clariant Medical Masterbatches, will once again present its solutions to customers at PharmaPack.

The demand for desiccant canisters continues to grow exponentially, and Clariant has responded with significant investments. Sorb-it® canisters, one of Clariant’s flagship products, an industry standard of pharmaceutical desiccants because of their rigid shape and ability to be inserted at high rates of speed. Furthermore, the capacity expansion has given Clariant the opportunity to implement state-of-the-art molding and production equipment, improving throughput and quality.

The company is also branching out into the protection of semi-solids. Pharmaceutical creams are often susceptible to oxyidation, hydration gain or loss and other types of contamination. With the introduction of Tubairless® to the pharmaceutical industry, Clariant now offers an innovative way for customers to improve stability of high-value creams, while providing many consumer-oriented benefits.
