Singapore, January 9, 2015 – Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, has achieved another milestone in community development through its latest corporate citizenship program- “Clariant School Adoption” at Tangerang, Indonesia. In partnership with the Putera Sampoerna Foundation, the “Clariant School Adoption” program was kicked off in June 2014 focusing on further enhancing the teachers’ professionalism and supporting them in educating students for a better future through intensive classroom and on-the-job training.

A total of 25 teachers from schools in the local community joined this 6-month training program. Three separate workshops were organized since August, aimed at giving the teachers new paradigm in teaching and classroom management. In addition, they also enroled in two dedicated coaching and mentoring sessions to make sure that they fully understand and are able to implement the materials instructed at the workshops. It is estimated that more than 700 students will be benefited from this teacher training program.

"I am glad to see that we have teamed up successfully with the Putera Sampoerna Foundation again to pull off this wonderful educational program. It fully corresponds with Clariant’s philosophy on sustainability and to grow hand-in-hand with our local community - the community in which our Tangerang site has been established for so many years," says Hans Herrel, Clariant's Country Head in Indonesia.

Others aspects received positive impact included appreciation, motivation and questioning skills, as well as learning method.

“Taking this opportunity, the Putera Sampoerna Foundation's School Development Outreach team would like to thank PT. Clariant Indonesia for its confidence in choosing Putera Sampoerna Foundation to deliver this educational program. Together, we make a difference to improve the educational level in the local community,” says Ari Kunwidodo, Director of Putera Sampoerna Foundation.
