DSM ARNITEL® TPE FOR HARD-SOFT COMBINATIONS WITH EXCELLENT ADHESION

DSM ARNITEL® TPE EXCELS IN 2K-MOULDED BMW SIDE AIRBAG The German airbag system manufacturer Dräxlmaier (Vilsbiburg, Germany) developed a 2K-moulded side airbag system for BMW with a frame of PC/ABS and (in green) a soft airbag cover of Arnitel PL471 TPE. Designed to adhere to such hard materials as polycarbonate (PC), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene/Polycarbonate (ABS/PC), and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), DSM Engineering Plastics’ Arnitel® TPE copolyester elastomer gives manufacturers the freedom to benefit from 2K moulding (multi-component injection moulding processes). Arnitel® TPE has been designed to perform well in automotive airbagcover, instrument panel, and other demanding applications.

DSM AKULON® PA6 OUTPERFORMS PA66 FORMULATIONS

Akulon® PA6 from DSM Engineering Plastics offers performance equal to or better than many competitive PA66 formulations. The choice of a polyamide (PA) thermoplastic for an engineering application, particularly between PA6 and PA66, often focuses on heat aging or strength and stiffness—and cost. Akulon® PA6 from DSM Engineering Plastics offers performance equal to or better than many competitive PA66 formulations, with significantly better price/performance when processability is factored in.
