DSM HIGHLIGHTS PORTFOLIO TO MEET AUTOMOTIVE TRENDS
To underline its commitment to the automotive industry, DSM Engineering Plastics is attending key industry events to demonstrate various new solutions for automotive applications.
ARNITEL® TPC ADVANTAGE FOR FORD FIESTA VACUUM BRAKE TUBING
Ford has selected Arnitel TPC from DSM Engineering Plastics for the production of vacuum brake tubes for its recently launched new Ford Fiesta. In doing so, Ford has acknowledged the advantages of Arnitel for this specific application. Ford already uses Arnitel in similar applications in a number of its models: Ford Mondeo, Ford S-Max, Ford C-Max, Ford Galaxy and Ford Focus.
AKULON® PA6 DELIVERS PRODUCTIVITY GAINS IN OIL SUMP APPLICATIONS
DSM Engineering Plastics has announced that Akulon PA6 resin has been selected by various OEMs and Tiers for various applications and feasibility studies for oil sumps and oil pans use in under-the-hood. Currently various engine and road tests are ongoing. Final design validation of Akulon PA6 in the oil sumps and oil pans is expected for the end of 2009.
DSM PRESENTS RECENT INNOVATIONS IN AUTOMOTIVE E&E APPLICATIONS
DSM Engineering Plastics has introduced a range of both new materials and specific grades of existing materials, designed to deliver the required performance, whilst meeting the overall industry trends for lighter, more effective and greener solutions.
EBM-PABST AND DSM ENGINEERING PLASTICS COLLABORATION LEADS TO INNOVATIVE FAN IN LED HEADLAMPS FOR HELLA
Advanced LED chips with increased light output, can now be used for automotive headlamps. Because of their long service life and compact size, LED lamps have become an attractive alternative to gas discharge lamps. Big advantages are the high endurance and new design possibilities. In addition, their high efficiency saves energy and and thus fuel. However, since the active chip surface is rather small, it requires adequate cooling. Fans optimized to the special needs of automotive headlamps deliver the required air flow for active cooling. In all this, high reliability and long life are indispensible for all headlamp components.
STOCKO CONTACT RECOGNISES STANYL® FORTII™ UNIQUE BALANCE OF PROPERTIES FOR WORLDWIDE FIRST SMT RAST CONNECTOR APPLICATION
STOCKO Contact, one of the leading European manufacturers of electro-mechanical components, and the first company in Europe to introduce a SMT RAST connector, has extended its product range with two new series of SMT pin connectors for use in domestic appliance engineering. Following trials of DSM’s new high performance polymer Stanyl® ForTii™, Stocko now plans to switch all their SMT connectors to Stanyl ForTii.
