DSM launches Arnite® TV4 260SXF: a special UL94 V0 PBT grade
DSM Engineering Plastics launches Arnite® TV4 260SXF, a special grade meant to cater to the advanced needs of the electrical industry. This grade is specially targeted for thin walled insulating components such as relays and bobbins. Arnite TV4 260SXF is a special PBT grade which is UL94 V0 at 0.4mm and has a CTI rating of 300 V.
Qian Hai Bin, Product Manager – Arnite, DSM Engineering Plastics Asia Pacific: “The trend towards miniaturization and system cost reductions is bringing component producers to challenge materials to its extreme. This grade is targeted at applications where the need to go smaller is ever increasing. Arnite allows designers to design thin walled components, as low as 0.4mm, and still qualify in its flammability ratings. Further, even under these flammability ratings Arnite has a high CTI rating of 300V making it an excellent offering for current carrying applications.”
Qian Hai Bin further elaborates: “This grade offers very good flow, even at low wall thicknesses allowing for high productivity through multi-cavity molds, with minimal warpage and no flash. It also offers very good surface finish. This grade is being tried at a few select manufacturers and we have got extremely favorable feedback from them. The commercialization of this grade is being planned shortly.”
