AKULON ULTRAFLOW IS IMPRESSIVE
Swedish firm Sveico has produced a new design garlic press, which will be sold under the company's GastroMax label. The company selected Akulon Ultraflow from DSM Engineering Plastics, because the material offered greater design freedom and is easy for filling complex molds. In addition, Akulon Ultraflow was able to deliver low cycle times with a 40% saving in production time compared to other polyamides, lower investment in machine and moulds, longer lifetime for machine and mould thanks to lower mould pressure, lower energy consumption and shorter cooling time.
Additionally, Akulon Ultraflow delivered a better surface, without the need for finishing or applying surface protection against oxidation as is the case for metals. And compared to aluminium, the production of the product used only 10% of energy - a key environmental saving.
Akulon Ultraflow also offers users a number of benefits including ease of use, easy cleaning and light weight. Due to the lower processing temperatures compared to standard polyamides Akulon Ultraflow can also be coloured more easily even with usually temperature sensitive bright colour pigments.
