DSM INCREASES PRICES OF ITS ENGINEERING PLASTICS IN EMEA
DSM Engineering Plastics has announced a price increase for a number of its materials in EMEA regions. Effective 1 January 2009, or as contracts permit, the following increases will be implemented for all shipments.
The specific increases are as follows:
• Akulon® Injection Molding Grades €200/ton
• Arnite® PET and PBT min. €150/ton
• Arnitel® TPC min. €150/ton
• Xantar® C General Purpose PC/ABS €300/ton
According to a spokesperson for DSM Engineering Plastics, “Price increases are necessary to offset the surge in energy costs and raw materials used to produce and transport these grades which have further eroded margins. Without this action our ability to invest in innovation directed to new products and technology developments for our customers would be impacted.”
