DSM ENGINEERING PLASTICS SHOWS STRATEGIC COMMITMENT TOWARDS (OPEN) INNOVATION WITH NEW ONLINE FOCUS
To further strengthen its capabilities in open innovation, DSM Engineering Plastics has launched an open innovation section on its renewed website.
DSM Engineering Plastics has announced that the company has made some significant changes in its online communications. Key amongst these are the introduction of a new Open Innovation website, a new Stanyl® ForTii™ website, fully updated versions of Stanyl® and Arnitel® websites as well as a refreshed DSM Engineering Plastics homepage.
www.openinnovation.dsmep.com
With the launch of a brand new internet portal (www.openinnovation.dsmep.com) DSM Engineering Plastics aims to provide a meeting point for external partners who see business opportunities, both now and in the future.
Using this new internet portal, DSM sets out to identify potential partners with whom innovation challenges can be met and solutions developed. Furthermore, technologies are posted that are ready to speed up the innovation process of other companies. In addition, technologies are described that are commercial in certain applications but where DSM would like to enter new areas with external partners.
Business Unit Director for DSM Engineering Plastics Europe, Michael Koch says: “We are totally committed to true 21st century innovation. We believe that open innovation and external collaboration will bring success for all parties involved.” Open innovation works both ways: On the one hand, DSM Engineering Plastics has products, technologies, services and know-how that can create value for others. On the other hand, external parties can provide resources and know-how that are valuable for our business and that of others.
To submit an idea, individual inventors or companies simply need to visit the website and click on the Submit your idea link in the right hand navigation bar. DSM Engineering Plastics will evaluate ideas and in case of mutual interest aims to create a win-win situation with all involved.
The Open Innovation web portal underlines DSM Engineering Plastics’ commitment to innovation, which is a core part of DSM EP Strategy in line with DSM’s corporate approach. Recently, DSM received the 2009 Outstanding Corporate Innovator Award from the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA) in recognition of its strategic commitment to Open Innovation. Considered to be one of the world’s most important innovation awards, the Outstanding Corporate Innovator Award recognizes organizations that demonstrate exceptional skill in continuously creating and capturing value through new product and service development.
