DSM announces Akulon price increase
Due to escalating raw material costs, DSM Engineering Plastics - Americas, Inc. will increase the price of Akulon® polyamide polymer for use in fibers and extrusion effective for all orders shipped on or after February 1st 2012.
The specific increase is as follows:
Akulon® polyamide 6 polymer +$0.10 per pound
Novamid® copolyamide 6/6,6 +$0.10 per pound
While DSM Engineering Plastics continues to pursue and implement cost savings initiatives targeted at absorbing the impact of the raw material escalations, this additional increase is necessary to ensure DSM Engineering Plastics’ sustainable long-term growth.
