DSM announces Akulon® and Nylatron® price increase
To offset escalating raw material costs, DSM Engineering Plastics, Inc. is to increase the prices of Akulon® 6 compounds (film grades and base polymer and injection molding grades); and Akulon® 6/6 and Nylatron compounds, effective for all orders shipped on or after March 19, 2012.
The specific increases are as follows:
Akulon® Polyamide 6 products (injection molding grades; film grades and base polymer) +$0.10 per pound
Akulon® Polyamide 6/6 products (injection molding grades) +$0.12 per pound
Nylatron® products +$0.15 per pound
While DSM Engineering Plastics continues to pursue and implement cost savings initiatives targeted at absorbing the impact of the raw material escalations, this additional increase is necessary to ensure DSM Engineering Plastics’ sustainable long-term growth.
