Distrupol signed as sole distributor for Elastollan® in the United Kingdom and Ireland

Distrupol, a member company of Univar and a leading European polymer distributor, technical service and solutions provider, has been appointed sole distributor for Elastollan® thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland where the company is the established distribution leader.

Elastollan® TPU is produced by Elastogran GmbH, a subsidiary of BASF AG and a world leader in polyurethane technology, and is an exceptionally versatile polymer. It can be processed on conventional injection moulding and extrusion machines, as well as on multi-component machines where it can be combined with engineering plastics and rubber.

Elastollan® TPU is elastic, resistant to buckling and impact, with good dimensional stability and is stable at temperatures from – 40° to +125° C. Together with good resilience, it is resistant to oils, fuels, UV radiation and hydrolysis, and has hardness ranging from 55 Shore A to 74 Shore D, thereby giving it an optimum fit in a very broad span of applications and industries.

Elastollan ® TPU, which can be coloured or painted and is recyclable, has already achieved significant success in applications ranging from automotive parts to medical equipment, wire and cable sheathing to components for the offshore industry and domestic appliances, as well as in leisurewear and sports goods.
