DuPont appoints Distrupol as its distributor in the Baltic States

Distrupol, a leading European polymer distributor, technical service and solutions provider, has been appointed sole distributor for DuPont’s Engineering Polymers business in the Baltic States. The agreement, which is effective from November 1, covers the distribution of DuPont’s engineering plastics throughout Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Distrupol will provide in-region resources to ensure the same high standard of service enjoyed by its customers across Europe.

The Baltic represents an important growth area for both DuPont and Distrupol and the recent accession of the Baltic States to the EU has given added impetus to business development in the region. DuPont’s decision to appoint Distrupol as its distributor for these three key countries was based on its success in representing the company’s engineering polymers in the Nordic countries, the UK and Ireland. This was reinforced by the fact that there are synergistic benefits to be gained by working with a single distributor across a region that shares similar cultural and business practices.

In commenting on the appointment, Ulf Bruder, marketing manager for the Nordic countries and the Baltic States at DuPont Engineering Polymers, confirmed that it reflected DuPont’s strategy to serve customers wherever in the world they do business and to partner with key distributors to ensure that service is the best available.

As has been proven by our co-operation elsewhere, for example in the Nordic countries,” said Bruder. “Distrupol supports customers beyond product delivery with a full range of technical and application development services, and the company’s commitment to excellence in this respect is complementary to our own very high standards.”

The broad range of DuPont polymers being handled by Distrupol find applications in a broad cross-section of industries including automotive, transportation, medical, food, protective and safety equipment, and toys manufacturing. Materials from this portfolio also meet the needs of adhesives and masterbatches for additive and colour concentrates, as well as profile extrusion and specialty coatings.
